Our Journey

Tasman Dog Training Day

“I learnt heaps and I walked away with great prizes and I got a "goody bag" ... all for just $ 10. Many thanks to everybody!” an attendee

July 2016 saw O2B Healthy run our very first inaugural Tasman Dog Training Day in partnership with Farmlands Richmond, Town and Country Vet, Waimea/Tapawera Dog Trial Club, Masterpet, Beef & Lamb NZ and The Vet Centre with renown sheep dog triallist and author, Lloyd Smith.

Despite the weather over 60 turned out on the day to hear and learn how to train a farm dog from pup through to paddock, heading and huntaway.  Thanks to all those who attended, and keep a look out as we look at holding future events such as these.

From Pup Pen to Paddock

"I have given O2B Healthy K9+ to my champion dog Ace to overcome a troublesome joint injury with outstanding results."

Lloyd Smith is one of New Zealand's best-known and consistent sheep dog triallist. He is also a proven and highly respected sheep dog trainer, who has developed a training method that many shepherds and farmers now use and get excellent results from.

Lloyd is actively involved in supporting young people and local community events and O2B is proud to support Lloyd in these activities and have such a well-known and respected champion as our animal health brand ambassador.

Mother's Day / NZ Heart Foundation

O2B were proud to support the Jennian Home Mother’s Day Fun Run Walk, where over 700 participated that morning to raise funds and awareness of one of the countries’ biggest threats for women, heart disease, moreover it was an opportunity for mums, daughters, sisters, aunts, grandmothers and granddaughters to get together and celebrate womanhood and wellness.

Pictured are our very own O2B Team including family - both two and four legged! Again, we would like to congratulate all the women who participated in the run/walk and thank Jennian Homes for allowing us to be a part of this worthy cause.

O2B Warriors

O2B were pleased to participate in the only competitive obstacle course race of its kind, the Wairua Warrior, held in the Top of the South at Happy Valley in Cable Bay, Nelson. Not only were we proud to assist WBCS and their team as gold sponsors, but we entered our very own O2B Warrior Team, pictured here with Toshi Bowell, personal trainer, who took on the challenge of getting our team obstacle fit.

This was only the second time the race had been held raising over $6,000 towards the Give a Little campaign and allowing wheel chair-bound, David Trotter to accomplish his dream of completing the 6km race. With the increase in popularity in this type of fitness through obstacles we are sure there'll be even more entrants next year to enjoy the fun, comradery and mud!

Nutritional Talks

As part of O2B’s support of the 2016 Wairua Warrior we offered a Nutritional Information Evening in which the general public and participants of the obstacle course race could come and hear from our very own expert Nutritional Therapist, Ali Maskell B.Sc. (Hons) who educated those who attended on the importance of having a balanced diet as well as key supplements and functional foods that would assist with endurance and recovery for such a physical event.

Keep a look out as we plan to hold more such evenings or if you would like Ali to come and talk to your specific group. Professional consultations are also available for a small subsidised fee. Contact us for details.

Team ZAS

Three women set off with one vision… if we can do it, so can you – aimed at inspiring all woman to reach their goals.

And that’s the attitude that made it so easy for O2B Healthy to proudly support these three women from our local community who competed in last year’s Spring Challenge Adventure Race in Wanaka.

Team O2B ZAS consisted of Zar, Ariana and Sarah who are inspiring other women to lead a healthier life through exercise, diet, and general wellbeing.

This year we look forward to sponsoring our very own team from O2B; The 3 Omegas!

Nelson District Dog Championship Show

Earlier this year O2B were lucky enough to be involved in the Nelson District Dog Championship show, an event which brought dogs of all different shapes, sizes and specialties from all over New Zealand in to the region, from gun dogs to pampered pooches this show had everything! Pictured is an image taken from the best in show section, all breeds.

Congratulations to all winners over that weekend we look forward to seeing you all again in the near future at competing shows.

Nelson Dog Training Club

The O2B team was at the Nelson Dog Training Club Championship to support this awesome event. We enjoyed meeting all the amazing agile dogs and their wonderful owners. We know that pet and people share a beautiful bond that has existed for thousands of years. Also spending quality time with animals can have a positive impact on your mood and your health, as well as improving your social life!

O2B recognises the importance of pets in your life, so we continually look for new ways to improve the health and well being and have introduced a specialised animal health range made to human consumption grade standards for their joint health, mobility and well being.

Nelson Ark

O2B Healthy is immensely proud to support The Nelson Ark, an amazing charitable organisation that plays a deep and powerful role in our community, by rescuing unwanted and neglected dogs and pairing them with young people who may be struggling to find their way. The healing process that takes place and the bonds formed through this incredible program is truly profound and life changing for many.

O2B feels extremely privileged to support this fantastic program in our own small way.

With permission, here is a pic of one of the graduates with her dog she trained.

SPCA Nelson "Dogs Day Out"

The SPCA Annual Dogs Day Out (formerly known as Million Paws Walk) is a great day not to be missed if you are a dog lover! The day starts in Nelson with a group walk around Isel Park. There are demonstrations in dog agility by the Nelson Dog Training Club and by their highly trained and talented canines as they expertly navigate the obstacle courses. The day includes a Dress-a-Thon – with great prizes to be won for “Prettiest Girl” to “Best Dressed” and a whole lot in-between.

Proudly supported by O2B with fantastic prizes, including a year's supply of K9+ for the winners.

Breast & Prostate Cancer Awareness

Breast cancer is New Zealand’s third most common cancer and the most common cancer in women worldwide. O2B were able to attend and support this years’ Pink Ribbon ‘High Tea’ fundraiser hosted at one of Port Nelson’s venues. The event raised $1,750 towards the Nelson Regional Breast Cancer Trust.

The funds raised all around the country went towards research projects and medical grants. It was an amazing afternoon where local women from all different backgrounds were able to share stories, be entertained and enjoy the delights, in good company.

Congratulations to the organisers for putting the event together – and to the local community and attendees who rallied to support this cause.

Kindergarten Fundraising

Once again the fundraising committee for Nayland Kindergarten put on a sell-out ‘Girls Night Out and Fashion Show’ held in September to mark the beginning of Spring.  All funds that were raised that evening went towards the further development of their playground.

O2B were proud to attend and support this event which was a chance for women to celebrate their femininity, have fun and contribute to our community's up and coming generation. We look forward to the fun and games again next year!

School Fundraisers

As a small business O2B are proud to support various school fundraisers around the region through contributing products or vouchers. Pictured here from Hope School is one of their students during their major fundraiser the annual “Hope School Country Fair” and in true country style one of the schools’ friendly pets.

Last year O2B contributed about $10,000 towards various community fundraisers, in particular community organisations, schools and kindergartens. This does not include support given to various animal or sporting organisations and individuals.

School - William Pike Challenge

The William Pike Challenge is aimed at supporting young people through the facilitation of education outside the classroom, providing opportunities for them to experience positive outdoor challenges.

We were lucky enough to be able to sponsor Harry Timms from Waimea College who participated in the challenge.

“During my school camp I completed two William Pike challenges, rafting the Buller River and biking the West Coast Wilderness Trail… I had not realised how strong the river rapids could be. An interesting fact I learnt from my guide is in winter, the waterfall isn’t even there as the water levels rise so high." say’s Harry. This well regarded initiative and the challenges it entails along with the contribution it makes to a youths’ personal development and contribution in the community are well worth supporting.
