O2B Viro-go for Natural Immune Support All Year Round

A Combination of Ancient Wisdom and New Science

Our latest mission?

We take pride in our ability to listen and respond to our customers, and many of you set us a mission to create a fast-acting, natural immune boosting supplement to help you ward off ills and chills. We do notice a spike in requests for immune support during the changing of seasons, but more recently people are looking to focus on building the competence of their immune system all-year round.

Our method?

Humans have been living with viruses, bacteria and other microbials since the beginning of time. For thousands of years before the invention of antiviral and antibiotic drugs, different human populations found ways of strengthening their natural defences from the natural environment around them.

For this reason, we begin our formulation by researching traditionally used and studied immune support nutrients and botanicals, then we look to modern science to see if studies have shown ways in which to enhance the bioavailability of different combinations, therefore increasing the value and effectiveness of the chosen ingredients.

To understand further some background into how we select ingredients to work together, we would like to introduce two key terms used when discussing how to maintain a healthy body and competent immune system:

  • Homeostasis: the  natural instinct for our body to return to healthy balance, regulating itself through various feedback loops. As we go about our day, inside us various organs and feedback systems are constantly monitoring internal conditions like body temperature, hormone levels and blood pressure, and based on these will activate glands and muscles to return to a range considered as normal. Our immune response is key to maintaining homeostasis by preparing the body to fight infection and to help it heal.
  • Immunomodulator: This kind of adaptable and flexible functionality that some herbs possess is important for homeostasis because it stimulates our immune system in different ways, modifying the response to a threat, supporting whichever immune cells are required to return to the system homeostasis and ultimately be free from infection. Some of the ways in which immunomodulators work are by stimulating our natural killer cells (a type of immune cell that has enzymes to kill cells infected with a virus), acting directly on a bacteria or virus and enhancing the production of antibodies.

Understanding these two concepts helps us to select the best and most effective ingredients for this essential product.

Choosing ingredients

Some of the most well-known botanical immune system supporters are Garlic, Vitamin C, Elderberry, Echinacea and Olive leaf. Zinc is essential for the development and function of immune cells and one way to ensure that immune function is supported on a cellular level. This powerful combination is regularly found in immune formulations, but we went further to include Andrographis paniculata, a well-known immunomodulator used in the Ayurvedic form of medicine which works in synergy with our own immune system.

Curcumin (Turmeric) is an all-round superstar, one of the most studied plants/spices in the world and also acts as a modulator for the immune system.

Finally, the perfect example of utilizing new science to take further advantage of ancient wisdom is through the combination of turmeric with a patented extract of black pepper in the form of BioPerine® for better utilisation and absorption of other ingredients blended with it. This kind of synergistic effect allows us to amplify the effects of other ingredients when combined, with the intention being that the ‘whole is greater than the sum of the parts’.

Perfect support for the whole family whenever you feel under the weather!

Take O2B Viro-go all year round to build your immune competency, during the colder months for added support, or keep it handy for when you may be at risk or feel those ills and chills beginning to take hold.
